Our Wedding Party

Nina

Gloria and Nina met on the lawn of Arizona State’s Honors College the first week of college. They had landed in the same group chat with girls going through sorority recruitment and were trying to split an Uber to the Rugby team’s party. They spent the next few years becoming friends over dining hall dinners, walks to class, and late night study sessions in Hayden Library. Gloria eventually talked Nina into joining the event planning organization where she would later meet Logan, and Nina was adopted as an honorary sister of Gloria’s sorority. A decade later, they have lived together, traveled together, and kept up a phone call habit that has survived every time zone either of them has ever lived in. Nina knows Gloria’s people and her story and there is no version of this day that makes sense without her at the front of the room.

The Bridal Party

Chloe

Gloria met Chloe at ASU after getting a bid to Chloe’s sorority, and she immediately decided Chloe should be her “Big Sister”. She made a point of finding her way into Chloe’s circle at every opportunity, which was not a difficult impulse to follow as Chloe was the heart of her friend group and the one who threw the parties everyone still talks about. What has kept them close is how much they recognize in each other: family dynamics, a shared (elite) taste in music and film, an equal investment in their careers, and a mutual conviction that life is better near water. Chloe is innately tuned in to the people she loves and is the kind of friend who already knows what you need before you have figured it out yourself. Gloria could not ask for a better “Big” and best friend.

Samantha

Samantha is Gloria’s oldest friend. They met on the first day of sixth grade, discovered they shared every single class that year, and took it as a sign. The early years of their friendship were quintessentially 2010s: Hunger Games midnight premieres, iMovie music video productions, chaperoned afternoons at the mall. They spent six summers at Camp Sacramento in Tahoe, each one preceded by weeks of planning cabin decor, assembling packing lists, and thrifting for costumes. They went to different high schools after eighth grade and have been long distance friends in some form ever since. Last year Gloria stood by Samantha’s side on her wedding day, and now she is honored to have Samantha is standing by hers!

Maya

Gloria and Maya’s friendship has always felt fated. They found each other when Gloria landed a job at Main Event Entertainment where Maya essentially ran the place and immediately took her under her wing. They are two of a kind in the best way: equally happy spending a day baking, crafting, or hosting as they are being the most formidable person in the room at work. They also share the good fortune of partners who are brilliant, kind, and deeply invested in Arizona sports (Go Suns). Gloria had the honor of standing by Maya’s side on her wedding day and is thrilled to have Maya by her side now.

The best man

Adam

Logan and Adam first met in sixth grade, where they would be friends all through high school, playing Euchre and Scum together during lunch and building robots after school. From debates in AP European History to literally traveling to Washington DC on the back of an Abraham Lincoln website, you could say they have a lot of history. They both attended Arizona State University, where their friendship grew even stronger there, living together for two years during their bachelor programs.

The Groomsmen

Judah

Logan and Judah met all the way back in fourth grade. They became fast friends, competing at frisbee, soccer, and just about anything else. They spent high school as rival team captains on the lunchtime frisbee circuit. Although Judah ended up going to the wrong Arizona University, the two remained close. In recent years, they have searched for the best pizza in the Phoenix Valley, and continued their competitive streak through board games and pickleball.

Michael

Logan and Michael met at ASU, in a townhouse known affectionately as the Morgue. They both joined a little club on campus known as PAB, and soon Michael and Logan were accountants for the club. They spent many nights playing Scum and Catan with friends from PAB. From travel adventures in Seattle, to NYC, all the way to Mexico, Michael and Logan always find time to spend travelling with their friends.

Quinn

Quinn and Logan grew up together, went to school together and share a fondness for Arizona sports teams and collectibles. They have spent many Sunday afternoons watching the Arizona Cardinals lose, and occasionally, win. Quinn and Logan compete on the basketball court and the volleyball court whenever they are together. Logan remains the taller one despite Quinn’s best efforts.
